Re: Plane Power Alternator

I'd do a little more research if there calling it disposable it probably is a denso with a $30 replaceable internal regular. We are in the process of put a 180hp in my brothers cub an I think it's a plane power light weight alternator kit were putting in there. I know it identical to the denso I put...

Re: which skiis

You'll like the aero 3000 they ground handle better then the Landes 2500 or 3000. I make mostly left hand turns with the Landis 2500s. Even with the 180hp and constant speed prop (light tail) it's hard to turn right. The Landis do well in deep snow though.

Re: 0 360 engine to mount torque setting

The lord mount torque is almost an A&P personal opinion, compress the rubber until it has a certain amount of pooch around the edges but not to much or to little. I'd follow your over-haulers break in instruction or their recommendations they may refer to Lycoming or ECI if they used those parts...

Re: Power flow exhaust on 170B-360 Lycombing

Some other thing to look into: Wing eccentrics set to maximize angle of incident. Slightly drooped flaps as mentioned earlier. Larger tire diameter, increases angle of attack on take off and less rolling resistance on rough surfaces. Prop and RPM you mentioned a Hartzell is it the 80" dampened ...

Re: Avcon lord mounts and alignment??

Correct, before the kit came out I know guys that would stack extra washers on the bottom, or at least until the had cowling conflicts. I think on Stoots's engine mount the engine longitudinal axis is slightly down and to the right from the AC's axis. The degree or so to the right, I guess helps opp...

Re: Avcon lord mounts and alignment??

Gary, how do the rubber bushings between the motor mount and firewall look the lowers get compressed after awhile letting the engine sag. A lot of folk go to the solid aluminum 180/185 bushings. Just another thing to check. Also, I don't think the angle you mention is the same, I know the cub's engi...

Only cons I can think of is; price tag, slows you down a little, and might make you land where you shouldn't. Here's a little discussion on this thread.

Re: 29" vs. 31" Alaska Bush Wheels

I haven't run the 29's on mine just the 26 and 31's, but I would think the only notice able difference would be the ground handling and feel at the same tire pressure. This as you mentioned is because the 26 and 29 have an extra ply and have a higher weight rating. A friend has 29's on his cub and t...

My 53 does not have a hole in the seat bracket and the the front seats fold forward to the same angle. No evidence of stretcher mod in mine.

Re: Video Cameras

I've been using the Drift HD 170 it's fairly cheap and it has a wireless remote. Cheap is good I mount it on my helmet when skidooing and mountain biking also. I also has a rotatable lens, so the camera doesn't have to be mounted level on the longitudinal axis. The video quality seams good I haven't...
