Re: Uavionix SkySensor
I also installed the SkySensor on the right wing tip to compliment my SkyBeacon on the left. I hooked up the yellow wire to get strobe ability as well since I am not IFR capable. No issues, ADS-B in and weather work great, and coupled with my AV-30's and AV-Link wifi module i also get the traffic on...

Re: My T3 tailwheel is installed
I've had mine installed for over two years now. Absolutely love it, and having gone through two annuals now, have not found any mechanical deficiencies with it. I'm running the stock Scott 3200 fork and wheel assembly. I'm not a hardcore back country guy but regularly land on uneven grass strips and...

Re: Intake Manifold Hose Install
Bruce, Just to pass along info I learned about DC-4. While most use it for its dielectric properties we (lycoming) learned from Champion that they do not recommend DC-4 for their wire harness plug ends and the material compound they use on their harness, when DC-4 is applied it actually makes them s...

Re: Switch and CB convedrsion
Found one on Amazon no less. NOS from DFWairparts. All the other places showed no stock or gave me 90 day lead times.

Re: Switch and CB convedrsion
So after three weeks and not receiving my order from Univair I called to find out what was going on. They said they cannot find stock and cancelled my order so now I'm back trying to find one or a suitable replacement.

Re: Switch and CB convedrsion
i have no reason to not use, other than the plastic mount ear was cracked, so i would have to replace it anyway and wondered if it was better to upgrade. I see Univair has them in stock, just wanted to make sure since I'm into the "exploded view" of the instrument panel i was replacing or ...

Switch and CB conversion
I'm converting my fuse holders to CB and when i removed the piano keys and updated the switches I noticed the CA-20 Klixon switch attached to the backside of the piano key structure. Since i'm updating the switches and connecting to new CB's, can i replace that CA-20 switch that was attached to the ...

Under the wing inspection panel light
I wanted to post the holiday break -sneak away from the family- project that I did. Obviously, no basis for approval (and don't want to get into that discussion here) and not my own idea but modeled after these units: https://fly-lite.com/. After doing it myself, I think that the before mentioned pr...

Re: BC433-H Alternator STC
Doug, It’s a B&C alternator so you can find out about the alternator itself on the B&C website but the person who owns the STC is the Luscombe Endowment which is basically Doug Combs from Classic Aero, LLC. I’d recommend calling them, they have an info email they sent out explaining what the...

Re: BC433-H Alternator STC
just received my package for Classic Aero. I'm pretty impressed with their package deal, it looks to be complete with all wiring, gaskets, instructions. I'll try to detail the install for a possible write up but if anyone else is looking to get away from a Generator and convert to an alternator, thi...

BC433-H Alternator STC
Has anyone done the B&C Specialties BC433-H alternator conversion from the standard generator? I bought the STC from Classic Aero, LLC, which provides everything including the voltage regulator and wiring. Just looking for any personal experience or gotchas that anyone has come across.

Re: TailBeacon
if i remember correctly on my skybeacon install, i just added a post on the last rib for the ground. Being that its a flying surface and you just can't go adding weight anywhere, is there any way to just allow a ring terminal on the mounting screw to the light base on the rudder?

Re: ADS-B uavionix updates
Update on my saga for the SkyBeacon install: Was failing 100% Mode 3A on the PAPR. Took it for a VFR check and when the tech went to trouble shoot an intermittent mode C report on his box, the darn transponder moved. It wasn't locked into the tray! Well we continued the VFR check and the transponder...
