Re: Lowering ailerons to gain cruise speed
Thanks for the info. My rigging looks great and it flies nicely hands off. Was repainted and everything rerigged and inspected about 4 years ago. I’m going to leave things as is. Sometimes these things sound great but in reality don’t gain anything.

Lowering ailerons to gain cruise speed
Two of my friends with 1960-70 vintage C-172s have dropped their ailerons about 1/4 to 3/8” relative to the flaps and have seen a significant increase in cruise airspeed. Has this been done on 170s with positive results?

Re: C-170B abrasion boots
Maybe someone has a photo of their installation. As far as part numbers go this is the current one that a few of us have been given. There are a couple YouTube posts on installation but not anything showing a C-170.

C-170B abrasion boots
I ordered Cessna PN 1232040-5 for the leading edge of the stabilizer. The rubber is 6” wide which means when attached it will extend 1” aft of the leading edge aluminum piece and go over the rivets. Seems like it will end up being a bit thick and lumpy bonding over this structure. Wondering if anyon...

Re: Javelin aux fuel tank problems
Thanks, I'll check all that and thanks for the instructions. It has an older pump - not the Bendix pump. Since this hasn't been used in number of years maybe it will be as simple as a clogged filter, etc.

Javelin aux fuel tank problems
Purchased this 170B last year. Put fuel in the aux tank and flew to test the system. I can hear the pump working on the ground, but a few problems are present. Fuel gauge and fuel transfer light don’t work. In the air after switching to the left tank with the right tank half full there was no change...

Re: Extra seat rails under rear seat
I’ve researched a couple of jump seat STC manufacturers but none have anything compatible with these rails. Guess I’ll use them for cargo tie downs with the Atlee Dodge seat rail attachments.

Re: Extra seat rails under rear seat
N8018A. Don’t know about Dick Lemon. I’ll measure the distance between rails tomorrow. It’s a nice professional install but we couldn’t find anything in the logs about it. Just completed the install of the Avionx ADS-B on the left wing Easy install but a fair amount of paperwork goes with it. The le...

aux fuel tank and saw these two additional seat rails. Wondering what they
may have been used for. Cargo tie down? Small jump seat?
