Sounds like you’ve made a wise decision.

You’ll find your “perfect” plane…. have faith. and patience.

It seems to me that a “seller” has an airplane with incomplete and inaccurate maintenance records….. and You or a friend might still want to buy it..? If so, be prepared to own a very questionable airplane unless you spend time and money on it to make it legal.

There is a rumor which has been passed about that when a new OEM part is sold by the OEM that it re-opens mfr’r product liability. If so…the insurance must be astronomical.

Does this “problem” manifest itself in Flight..? or on ground only..? Is this a “new problem” ?…or has it existed for some time.? Do you have a record of when the carburetor was last overhauled..? who did it..? Have you checked the dataplate to determine applicability? When you replaced the accelera...

Prop gov’s are adjustable. (check that the correct gov is installed…and it is adjusted per mfr’s specs… and that the control-cable is correctly adjusted.)

Are you seeing this 2400 on the ground (static)? …or in flight.
