Re: How the Internet Saved Me….
Seemingly there is a video somewhere on YouTube to repair most anything. I’ve used it to repair our Maytag Washer and Dryer, and John Deere Baler among others.

Re: Craftsman hand-tool warranty
Once upon a time Craftsman was great quality but I believe that has been sacrificed. For sure, the power tools.

Re: Landing Light Surprise
I only have an LED as my Taxi Light. Landing Light is still old incandescent. The LED causes no noise in either COM radio.
Hope you find the source of your frustration.

Perhaps the seller means that he has routinely loaded the aircraft at 2,500 lbs.

Re: Insight on panel
IMHO both panels pictured are beautiful.
I love the 170. The lines and styling of a classic. Speed, utility, and ease of upkeep of a modern aircraft.
We can do most of what they do, but in style.

Re: up elevator control linkage hitting airspeed indicator
My Aviation Mentor taught me to check all four corners via the “box method” when doing the Control Check on the Before Takeoff Checklist. Most everyone else does the fore/ aft, then left/ right method thus only verifying the center. I picked up a Cessna 340 from King Radios in Olathe, KS many years ...

Re: Continental SB M46-23
I was unaware there was once a 73 Octane Aviation Fuel.
Interesting also that 80 Octane Aviation Fuel didn’t contain Lead. That gives me more comfort to use MOGAS.

Re: Shipping to Germany
Last year I purchased a full set of fabric covers for my glider from Germany, which likely weighed as much/ more than a generator, in a much larger box.
The shipping charge was around $130 and they used DHL.

I won this one as a door prize at the very first 170 Convention I attended (Blakesburg, IA, 1985). It was manufactured and STC'd (SA152NW) by now-deceased member Bob Schroers. The picture isn't very good, but the glareshield is aluminum sheet covered with padding and vinyl, with lights and extra pa...

Re: Replacement BULBS Schorer GLARE SHIELD
I found replacement bulbs for the Schroer Glareshield on Amazon as well as a couple other vendors. Do an internet search for 12v .15A bulb. None are cheap but at least they are available.
