Re: NASA Aviation Safety Report
George I agree with you that the instructor gave a terrible example of overall how to handle the situation. The worst is that typically reteaching to proper instruction is very difficult as humans tend to remember what their first taught and not so much the relearning. About 20 years ago flying our ...

Diameter, thickness, material, bend radius and anything else.
Know a guy in Houston who builds race car headers for me. Good work and reasonable. Stainless or carbon steel.

Front Page Recognition
Our Friend Paul Wood is on the front page of our local news paper, All Around Wise.
Paul was recognized and awarded a plaque for 50 Years Service as a Volunteer Fireman. I and not surprised as Paul is a great person.

Re: Reached out to MT Propeller
There have been some more developments and all hope is not lost.
Give me a little time to tighten up the loose ends and I’ll report back.

Re: Reached out to MT Propeller
Doesn’t really matter anyway as this morning I received a response from MT that they infact want the full cost paid up front. Told them no I would not be willing to do that and explained that the FAA actually cautions not to buy anything until all the paperwork is done and approved. It’s a shame cau...

Reached out to MT Propeller
Miles, it’s an electrically controlled propeller. Has mechanical fine and course limits. The actuator as I understand it is a certified actuator that is used in a pressurization system in one of the big planes. Even if the controller or actuator runs away the mechanical limits will keep it with in l...

Reached out to MT Propeller
I don’t worry about being a Guinea pig. I just don’t wanna put that much money into a slim at best chance of it going thru. I also realize there are no 170’s with that set up. But wouldn’t it be fun to be the first. I’m hoping they will accept a deposit as a good faith showing and get their known DE...

Reached out to MT Propeller
I reached out to MT Propeller thru email giving specifics of my plane and asking if they had a constant speed propeller that they would recommend. Additionally if they would be willing to provide/assist with engineering data in an effort to get a DER to process the proper paperwork to give to a DAR ...

Re: Yet another new guy
Thanks Means a lot coming from you guys. I got back last night from a work trip and went out fun flying today. Flew a little over four hours. Great flying plane and faster than my A. Probably the wheel pants. Most of the flying between the A and the B are very similar , except when the flaps are out...

Re: Yet another new guy
I received a file box full of paperwork along with the logs. The file box contains a bunch of recepts etc, but also a bunch of letters he had written to various venders. They were very interesting and well written. In reading thru all the information he seems like he would have been a very interesti...

Re: Yet another new guy
Yea I like blue. 25582, an early one but legs were changed to Lady Legs a long time ago. Lands nice with this gear. I also like the improved heater, I made use of that as it was 27 when I departed. I also like the layout of the panel with the additional space. Things are scattered about in the panel...

Re: Yet another new guy
Well I haven’t posted anything in a while and thought a quick update was in order. Thru a turn of events I sadly sold my 1951 170A that was a joy of a project to get back in the air. I really had no intention of ever selling the plane for several reasons but especially because it was the first plane...
