Re: Brake Master Cylinder
Ok. I have a dumb question. On my 1948, I cannot locate the master cyl. On later models, I note it is behind each pedal. Mine pushes a tube down to a torque tube that travels into the center. Is it in there? The belly access plate reveals only the heater tube passing.. I'm replacing the O rings, and...

I was able to see the side stamp. It is a CAV-110. Thanks for all the inputs! Don

Re: Fuel drain drip
Thanks Bruce. I saw that part CPP100 but could find no connection to newer. I'll see if I can view a stamp on the side CAV110, go from there. Don

Fuel drain drip
Hi All,
I see the old threads on replacing the wing tank drain, suggested to do both. My question is exactly what is the part #? I cannot find it in the 1948 service manual. It appears, it should be a CAV170. Anyone know for sure?
Thanks, Don in MT

Seat rollers
Hi,
Anyone know of good source for the 3/4" seat rollers, or is Aircraft Spruce the only reasonable at $89 per set? Thanks, Don

Re: Landing Lights HID
As mentioned the "Goodies for Pilots" site has PAR 36 and PAR46 lamps. They also offer a flasher option to install, nice, simple. Great prices also!
Good luck! Don C170

more on Landing lights.... C170 vs C170A/B
Hi All, It is fun learning about the 170, always been in the homebuilt world. I found the PAR36 light does not fit the C170, with the retractable light. I bought a PAR36 from Goodies for Pilots. I spoke to owner, Yamil Q. He does carry the PAR46, which I need but it requires filing off 3 alum 'nubs'...

1948 Landing light removal
To replace my landing light, it appears that it is a snap ring holding it in, but does not budge. It retracts into the lower wing, not built into leading edge. Am I correct, and just need to work it, or is there some other procedure?
Thanks, Don

Re: LED upgrade landing light
Thank you Brian!
This was most helpful. Mine is a C-170, one of the 727 beginning models, so I have only the retractable landing light, burned out as I discovered today. Don

LED upgrade landing light
HI All,
I found no thread on the LED upgrade for landing lights. A&S has a NAVSTROBE model, works on 14 & 28V, plugs right in, $150. Whelen has models also in the $227 range. Thanks, Don

Hi,
Does anyone have a simple flip down visor that can pivot from one end? I was hoping to it attach to the overhead sheet metal trim that covers the headliner attachment clip. Photos would be very helpful!
Thanks, Don 1948 C-170
