No more C170 for me
I am sad to report that the C170B that I fly was sold this summer. It had been purchased by a local flying club a couple of years ago and I was keen to get the opportunity to fly it. The flying club wanted to use the aircraft for converting pilots to tailwheel aircraft. I have flown at more than 10 ...

Re: To-Do-Item #2 Parking Brake
Is there anything someone can do in flight if they are worried about the park brake having been inadvertently set. I am worried about touching the handle at all right now.

Re: Loose fuel selector
The whole unit itself seems loose down below the floor and can therefore be wobbled back and forth. The turning portion of the handle seems not too bad and there is a detent.

Loose fuel selector
Is the one on your aircraft loose with a lot of play. Is this a problem if it has a fair amount of play but still seems to work OK.

C170A/B aileron mass balance weights
It appears that both models(A and B) were delivered with 2.94 aileron mass balance weights. But some A models were delivered with 1.75 lb mass balance weights. Can the lower weight ones be used on the B model? And also, does the C172 have the same weights that can be used on the 170?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: EZ Flap handle
Hi, I am renting the C170. Therefore I did not have a choice of shoulder harness. You are right, it does not have an inertia reel which would eliminate the difficulty in reaching the handle. I suppose they could have done the inertia thing instead of the EZ Flap thing which does take away from the o...

EZ Flap handle
Sure makes a big difference in the ability to actually operate the flaps when a shoulder harness is being used. Prior to the installation, I couldn't reach the flaps for extension because of the shoulder harness. Prior to the EZ flap handle, my plan was to leave the flaps up in the event of a off ai...
