I think the appearance of centered rudders is an illusion.
Good point Bruce. Must agree with you. Can't help thinking this is a photoshop job though. Any ideas how the guy got on the prop?

I'm pretty sure I can make out 7 bodies outside the aircraft. All of them are on the same side of the aircraft as the dead engine. Anyone else think its strange that the rudders appear to be centered?

Remove the plunger assembly and put a drop of motor oil on the o-ring and reassemble. While your at it, put a drop on your fuel cap gaskets too. They'll go off and on much easier.

Welcome Paul, You can easily check for the solid axles by sticking a long narrow screwdriver or equivilent through the center of the nut that secures the wheel to the axle. If you have solid axles the screwdriver should only go in an inch or two. If its hollow it will go all the way through to the ...

Dacker, I had a similar experience too. After repacking the wheel bearings and replacing the wheel I didn't get the axle nut completely seated against the wheel bearing. On the first landing, it got pretty exciting with a resulting hard right turn just after touchdown. Effectively. any side load on ...

Sanships, Can't speak to personal experience regarding the used equipment route but would be very wary of anything bought at an auction or from a source that didn't provide a warranty. I did a new SL40 and SL70/altitude encoder self install (under IA supervision of course) two years ago. IMO, the pr...

Ah yes but it does make it "look" faster on the ground. You guys should know by now...Wheel fairings, strut cuffs and such don't do anything significant to increased speed.... You want speed? All you really have to do is go out and get yourself some green paint! :D

Bruce, I have had the same problem with the breather but only if I put 8 quarts of oil into the crankcase. I cant say exactly how much oil comes out but it sure makes a mess of the belly and the floor of the hangar. I've had the front seal checked but thats not the problem. The only way I have elimi...
