Re: Original ASI

When I looked into it, I pulled a part number from an old catalog, and found this. Go figure. This is p/n 0411086-18 (I believe?)

See Dillon Barron's '54 for an example. It's perfect.

Re: New Firewall

Kyle Fosso's new firewall that he constructed is fabulous. Maybe he'd assist in creating another?

Beautiful aircraft! Thanks for posting the photos, as well. Great story.

Would love to see a larger res version of that last photo, during taxi.

Re: C 170 in Museum?

Oh well..

I'm going to contact the lead gent at the Museum this week, and inquire about photos that they have on file. Perhaps there's been more documentation of the originality than what the newsletter leads us to assume. I'll report my findings!

I'll make some calls, and find out for sure!

Re: Engine HP given RPM, MP and PA

Reciprocating engines are air pumps. The RPM is just one factor that determines the horsepower output of the shaft turned by the air pump. Air density & temperature are just as important. 2700 RPM does not always mean 145 HP of output on an O-300. Atmospheric pressure gets lower as you go highe...

Re: Engine HP given RPM, MP and PA

Interesting read folks! However, I'm a bit confused by the premise of this discussion! Maybe I'm way off base here, but to my understanding 'horsepower' is a figure that is directly related to engine RPM, which in this case, is the same as the propeller RPM. Anything that contributes to more RPM, wi...
