Thanks for all the replies everyone! Looks like my only options these days are to get some dual tailwheel time or rent the less than ideal condition Citabria in our area. As I'd like to have a long flying career, I'll go for the dual time. Not sure if that'll help insurance when I finally get the 17...

How did you all build your tailwheel time before ownership? I imagine it's relatively rare to find someone that will rent a taildragger or if insurance even allows this.
