Re: What to do in Fairbanks
I live in Fairbanks and actually enjoy the great views, dry, clear, low sun sky of winter better than summer. Rainy Anchorage is cold I call Fairbanks "crisp". By the way I'm originally from Florida. Hardly ever any wind now and we have only 2" of snow cover so skis aren't on yet and ...

Re: MT Prop delaminated

MT Usa has been super nice admitted should not have happened and are trying to get me back in air quickly. FSDO did look at pr...

Re: MT Prop delaminated
Every composite prop I have seen has had surface cracks on finish from flexing. Mt addresses this in their inspection manual.I have sent them macro photo of this for their opinion and they always say nothing to worry about. Bubble looking area on flat surface can happen too from pitch seeping from w...

Re: MT Prop delaminated
mt2.jpg I will try to send a picture. I don't know what caused my uneasiness but have been at it for 50 years and 10,000 hrs of field helicopter work taught me if I ever feel uneasy land now till it is reconciled. I think maybe your subconscious can pic up something maybe our conscientious mind doe...

MT Prop delaminated
Yesterday after 2 trips around the pattern didn't notice anyting but got bad feeling so taxied back and checked over AC. My MT composite prop on constant speed 0=360 had delamed and peeled up on blade from blade root about 6" or more up on trailing edge of blade. Could look inside and see 6&quo...

which skiis
Thinking of selling Federal AWB 2500 Hydraulic wheel skiis on 2526D and going to straight Aero 3000 or Landis. Any opinions on the two. Here in Fairbanks just think straights skiis better and can afford other goodies like tires.

Re: Aircraft rigging with wheel ski's installed, right wing
Finally got skis on and out today. AC seemed to fly right wing down and out of trim which wa different from last spring when flew last. Fell off to right on stalls. Cycled skis thru a few times and found it stopped. As just installed i think the right ski just was slightly lower when raised and caus...

Re: Wheel Landings 170
I agree on 40 deg flaps harder. I had always done wheel landings at 20 or none as probably do in trying wind conditions. Also already set up to go around. But once I got the 40deg wheelies mastered with no bounce and smooth, it really helped me with everything else. I think it really helped with fin...
