You're kind of lucky with the fuel prices. I'm in Northern California and the price I paid today was 3.99/gallon ... which is 6 cents cheaper than at my home 'drome. Now that your bird is all inspected it sounds like you're in for a summer of fun :D

Happy Flyin' !!

I always lean when cruising. Given that you were running full rich, that may be about right on the fuel burn, it's hard to say since I don't cruise at full rich. I do know that if I run at a high RPM at low altitude I can get it to burn just over 9 gph (and I lean for that also). The oil temperature...

I have the H-W mufflers on the airplane and I have the "crossbrace". What I don't have is a way to hook the crossbrace to the exhaust assembly. I'm assuming there should be another clamp to go around the tailpipe which then bolts onto the crossbrace. Is this something I can find locally?

Hold on ... terminate the emergency :) I found the part on Cessnaparts.com and had it shipped out. They were real nice on the phone and to cut some time were able to have Cessna ship it directly to me from Wichita to California instead of KS-GA-CA and losing a day or two in the process. Hopefully I'...

I've been hunting around the internet and can't find a Cessna factory parts website. How do I order a part from Cessna?

George, you wrote that the crossbrace part Listed at $336 but stock was $268, how do I get the lower price and where do I go to order it?

Thanks,

I end up cleaning my battery box every year at the annual. This year I tried the Rustoleum brand paint in a little pint can (not the spray) and painted it on. It looks to be much thicker than any of the spray stuff I've used in the past. It just takes a little longer to dry. Hopefully this will be t...

I talked with AWI today and they are shipping my new mufflers and all associated hardware ... but they didn't know anything about the crossbrace. I tried to explain it to him but he didn't know anything about it. Has anyone else ordered from AWI and recieved this part? I was looking around for a pic...

On the cross brace issue, my pancakes didn't have any cross brace. Does this mean I will not need one for the H-W's?

I hope I'm not asking a dumb question, but if you have the rotating one already installed on your airplane - have you tried to clean the gears and re-oil them? My beacon was getting real slooooow, and when I did this it perked right up! It's been a year now and I haven't had any problems. It'll save...

Welcome aboard!! I'm also an "A" model guy, though I'm a bit further south (northern California). I have also had the same experience you have ... that this airplane makes me a better pilot and a happier pilot!

Mine is an El Reno which takes a Champion 48108-1 filter. I believe this is the same basic filter as the F&M one. I've never used the model of filter you are using. My engine is a C-145.
