Ripped out left main on landing. Anyone in the southeast that repairs the gearbox/ bulkhead?

Thanks,
Rob

Looks like it would be either the -21 or -59. According to the article he flew a D model, BU 228229. I don't know which D variant, though.

Off Topic: Prop RPM vs. Engine RPM on CSP

First, I'll explain. I will post an excerpt of an article I read in the latest Flight Journal magazine. I am an avid WWII aviation buff and regularly fly flight sims online(great non-flying stick time, might I add!). I posted this article on another forum, and there was some debate, of course, as to...

Flaky yoke!

The paint on my yokes is coming off in a dandruff-like fashion. What can you do about it? Can you buff them off and repaint?

Thanks,
Rob

A woman is meant to be loved, a dog is meant to be hunted and a plane is meant to be flown. Sometimes I would come in at 8 in the evening during the summer. I'd have enough time to check the oil, untie, warm-up and fly for 15 minutes. Was it worth it? The day I took off from my strip and saw the red...

Thanks for the info, fellas! Kelly, yessir, I'd like to see that liner. Like I say, if I flew out of a paved strip in Arizona, I'd go back to carpet. But down here in Mississippi, we get 60 inches of rain a year, and flying off of my grass strip leaves the carpet in a muddy, grassy mess. I do most o...

Great idea, gahorn! You are right, it would be almost impossible to remove the bedliner material if you ever needed to. I do have the old carpet, all intact. It would be easy to trace a pattern on the material of choice. Thanks, Rob Oh, anybody know who redoes the interior panel trim? Mine is all pu...

Out of curiosity, what's your TTAF?

My '56 B has 10267.3. Folks tell me that can't be right, but it is, according to the books. It was "employed" in the 60's for a timber company in Alabama. There is a camera hole in the bottom, under the rear seat, so I'm guessing they did survey work or something like it. That's where most...

Low, some of the ag guys around here have tinted windscreens and side windows, but they don't fly at night either ;) I would think it would make dusk and dawn flying a pain, but they don't seem to mind it. Then again, they don't have any shade from the wing to help out.

What about a "lineX" type floor covering?

Instead of carpet, like my 170 has. Of course, anything would look better than the puke yellow carpet in my B! With all of the muddy, grassy feet that enter and exit the cockpit, it seems that a floor covering of the type that we get for our pickup beds would be the trick. You would have to keep it ...
