Re: Birds and no radio

Ok so not required to have a radio I get that, lots of airports like that and lots of airplanes without radios. However are they allowed to camp out on the runway while they sort out whatever they were doing? Were they completely oblivious to your airplane on downwind, then base, then final. Like he...

Re: Airplane Rides - Liability

Thank you all for your replies, I am not sure how my insurance policy is written up with regards to friends, when I get some extra time I will look into it but figure it's just a standard policy and the $100,000 that 'jrenwick' mentioned sounds real familiar. Arash thanks for the links those might b...

Re: Airplane Rides - Liability

Well I'm thinking to much this morning when I'd rather be sleeping. I know there's not a fix all, I know you can be to anal about some things. Sometimes as has been said before on this forum don't worry about it and just go fly. Maybe this is one of those times. I just wanted to put that out there. ...

Airplane Rides - Liability

I can't sleep tonight and got to thinking about giving airplane rides to folks that have asked over the years that has just never happened for one reason or another. I was asked yesterday about giving one to a friend of my brother-in-law so that probably got me to thinking. Since receiving my licens...

Re: Dubya is moving

While we're at it I might as well put my bid in for a stop in along the way if Russellville ends up in your sights. I'm about 45 miles of RUE to the north on a 2000' grass strip. I can't match Dave's offer as we don't have any extra hangers but I'd be happy to take ya to the area's favorite eating j...

Re: Wonderful Generous Folks in Nigeria

I can't beat her up much on the grammar (Thank GOD for spell check or I would have spelled grammar wrong) because I actually picked an associates degree that did not include English 101 as a requirement. In place of English 101 was "Technical Writing" which turned out worse then I had imag...

Re: Good news and bad news for our 170s

So the only difference is they now presume the aircraft don't exist when an owner don't respond when in fact some likely do and some likely are still flying. It's not like the $1.66 a year is going to break me I just don't see the point as some of you do. Other than the FAA saying these are now conf...

Re: Good news and bad news for our 170s

Of course a by product of having an accurate database would be the FAA wouldn't have to waste money sending ADs and such to bad addresses only to have them returned. Somehow I'll bet any money saved has been swallowed up paying for the the management of the more accurate data. Well that extra money...

So does this mean the Continental adapter is not a recommended add on or just not as recommended as the F & M adapter?

Re: Gas can vent mod

Bruce, I think you might have some higher quality valve stems then I. Although I have not had this issue with all of them at this point but I also don't pull on them to see how close they are to coming apart. Could be I need to not fill them as full as I do so the gas is not in contact as much durin...

Re: Gas can vent mod

I tried the valve stem trick and it works for while or that is how it worked for me. To me it seems the gas eats away at the rubber and I have had a couple come apart. I have also had them partially pop out with pressure. Just my experience with them. However they are fairly cheap and easy to find s...

Justin, That is so cool to get to land at the family farm! I'm still new with only about 125 total hours, and about 18 hours in my 170, so i love it when I get to try a new field. JP It was a dream of mine. When I was living down close to Little Rock and finally got a chance to move back home it wa...

That's fantastic! Must have felt real good to finally get it down on your property. Thanks and yes it felt really, really good. Nice! Is that your RED pickup in front of the house? George, Sorry to disappoint but that is my Uncle's RED truck actually in the back yard. The location is actually my Un...
