Yes I have purchased a 1954 170B and have been flying it for two months. I am loving it!

Nothing but the usual aircraft registration information comes up on mine but it hasn't been in the limelight much.

Nobody seemed to have a solid answer for the static problems....
I see no need for a failure prone vacuum pump either, at least not for my kind of flying.

I got rid of the parking brake during the annual :) The engine is a C145 H2. It had an airborne vacuum pump on it a very long time ago but that has been removed.
