Re: Flap play

The slots are fine. I guess I’m more worried about the side play and the little notch in the false spar from the bolt. I’ll see if I can get a picture Thursday.

Flap play

We have been flying our 170 for over a year now. How much play (vertical and horizontal) should the flaps have? I noticed at the annual the a couple flap bolts have put a small notch in the flap false spar when they go to 40 degrees. I didn't notice it when we did the flap roller kit as it only does...

Mixture creep

My mixture creeps a little in flight. I was looking at the newer style clip 0513173-1 that Cessna has as superseding the three part lock. They want $200 for that little piece of metal. Does anyone have a better source for these or a handful laying around they would sell for a more reasonable price. ...

Progressive Inspections

Does anyone had their 170 on an approved progressive inspection program? My brother and I share our 170 so it spends six months in FL with him and six months in IL with me. I am an IA and he is an A&P. I have been tossing around the idea of him doing two phases and me doing two. If anyone has an...

How many shock mounts on a 54 gyro panel

I have tried to search the old posts for this, but here goes. How many shock mounts are required on my 54 with gyros? My parts book says 6 but there are 9 holes. I'm sure it is a miss print but want to check before I put the panel back in. Thanks.

Grimes light part

I wanted to see if anyone knew of a source for the little bulb contact piece in the socket that the wire gets crimped on. We have ran new wire in the airplane and and need to rewire the sockets. Any help would be appreciated.

Wire routing for 1954 B

I took a bunch of pictures before we removed the old wires, however none of them show exactly where the wire bundles pas through the instrument panel on the sides. There are three holes and I know the one is fore the headset jack. If anyone have any pictures I would appreciate it. I tried searching ...

Re: Carb Overhaul

I failed to mention that it is the original carb on the original engine (as far as the logbooks say). Does anyone overhaul carbs and bring it up to standards?

Carb Overhaul

All, I have read a few threads about carb overhaul but few apply to my problem. My 170 hasn't flown since 1991 so the carb I took off has a two piece venturi that fell out as we were disassembling it. We also have a carb that has a one piece venturi that was on a shelf. The question is do I get the ...

Re: Another Rheostat Bites the Dust

I found it in the IPC. It says circuit breaker. What is it for?
