Re: Intercom Tone When Transmitting

Some easy to check items are USB charging units plugged into cigar lighters, cheap versions of these sometimes cause interference. The other thing are certain LED lights.

Re: Starter Motor Conversion

Resurrecting an old thread... for those of you that have done the B&C conversion, did you have to get a different battery? I have a relatively new RG-25 and the B&C can barely turn over. The battery is fully charged. Have yet to measure the amperage during cranking - I suppose there could b...

I think in this case it would be unairworthy no matter who removed it.

Currently installed:

second: .170
third: .233
main: .322 bought new from Univair in 2018
That totals .895 which quite a bit less then the .951 that Bruce was looking for. Seems like it would be a lot easier to install.

Re: Superior Cylinders

Thanks. These are tubes that came with the cylinders from Continental like the ones used on their bigger engines, I don't know it they are the same as the Real Gaskets but they work the same way. I will replace the seals and I do have the compression tool.

Superior Cylinders

I'm thinking going with a new set of Superior cylinders, my problem is that my current cylinders are the Continental "New" style with the Real Gasket type pushrod tubes. Does anyone know if the tubes can be re-used with the Superiors cylinder?

Re: 40-75D vs 40-97A wheels

The 40-97A wheels are the ones STCed for the 170, the 40-75D are for Cessna 180 - 210 aircraft. The Parker catalog mentions that the 40-75D "may not work with wheel pants due to the wider offset of brake disc". https://www.parker.com/literature/Aircraft%20Wheel%20&%20Brake%20Division/A...

It should be doable if you don't have any takeoff obstructions in the way. Notice ground run is 40% of number shown.

Thanks Brian, I had seen those videos a few years ago and forgot all about them. Interesting he recommends replacing the tailwheel to tail spring bolt every annual. One of these days I will order the overhaul kit and rebuild my extra tail wheel assembly.

Re: Pros and Cons of Polished Aluminum

The problem with polishing is you are slowing removing the surface alclad layer of pure aluminum from your aluminum surfaces which is there to prevent corrosion of the aluminum alloy core material. As nice as it looks I think painting or using George's technique is the way to go. I went to the Nuvi...
