Re: V-Brace install help
I will take pictures of my v-brace this weekend. I will also email you a copy of my 337 which used the 337 that you have as supporting documentation. Here is a good resource for how to put together a proposal for a field approval: "http://home.comcast.net/~dyenfd/". Look at the examples bu...

Re: V-Brace install help
I bought my plane with a v-brace installed but with no paperwork. My first annual was done by someone that wasn't familiar with the model and it was over looked. The second annual was done by a DER that caught it and was going to charge me $300 to remove it. I gave him the 337 from the archives and ...

Try pumping the fluid backward from the caliper.

Re: Fishing Rod or ski Tube Field Approval
I guess if I had a baggage door then tying up the backseat would not be too inconvenient, but I do not have a baggage door and having to remove the rod tube anytime I need to get into the baggage compartment would suck. I am flying to Alaska in June and will have rods in the airplane the whole time,...

Fishing Rod or ski Tube Field Approval
I want a fishing rode tube. I need supporting data. Does anyone have a fishing rod tube installed. I would like to see your documents.
The one in the MX library ($5) is only the front page of a 337, not much help.

Re: Battery Box Manufacturer
dbarron,
Is the 170b you are restoring the one that sat on the ramp at Hannibal with bent wing tips from a storm? If you are in Hannibal I would like to come up and see your project sometime. I fly out of Fulton.

Re: Best Three Mods
I have a c-145-2h with a D in the serial number. All the cranks are dampened, but the D means there are more dampeners. Can't quite remember the terminology but it was the 6th something; maybe the 6th journal. I have a 35amp generator and I added a Zeftronics regulator. It cuts in a few hundred less...

Re: extended baggage?
George, I was confusing the issue with examples. This is the simplest statement that I could come up with: Remove weight from in front of CL and tail goes down, but if the weight was removed from behind firewall, CG moved forward. And a simpler example: I think they call the point we measure from th...

Re: extended baggage?
In the CG discussion It seems that the Center of Lift is being overlooked. The center of lift is the fulcrum not the firewall. Loosing weight behind the firewall and in front of the Center of Lift will move the CG forward, but you will need less tail down trim. Instead if you were to toss out some b...

Re: Batteries
The odyssey SBS J-16 fits in the battery box just fine. 1" of extruded blue foam on each of the large sides makes it fit snug. The width and height are very close to the Gill. I am not legal yet. I would like to see example paperwork from any that has the field approval.

Re: W and B
The line wrapping on the files will not be right. I edit a server from Unix. Windows uses a different end of line character. The N number is in the C170B.html file. -- weightandBalance.js is where you can change the empty weight, arm, moment, pilot weight and such. The arms in the arm array are x 10...

You do not have to be on the net to use it. There are five files. Put them in a directory, open the html file with browser and it works. All the functionality is on the browser side, javascript. Download the five files from http://web.missouri.edu/~lewisbc/WandB/, right click "save as" Put...

http://web.missouri.edu/~lewisbc/WandB/C170B.html Formatted for my hand held computer about the size of a phone. Looks good in Firefox and Google-chrome. I don't use internet explorer. I can change the Gross, Arm and N-number. Put it on your computer, click on the html file and good to go. Blake Lew...
