Pull-Starter: Switch failure: something to look out for
Thought I would share something that happened to me on my Delco Pull starter. Went to fly a few weeks back, pulled the starter and silence! Well the starter had not been touched since brfore I bought the plane in 1997. So I figured I was in for a rebuild. But being curious (and low on funds) I...

Although I can't be 100% certain, it sounds like a compound called PRC or Pro Seal. I have used it on rubber fuel tanks with great success. It dries to a greenish grey slick finish. Here is a link to the stuff. http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/cspages/proseal.php Patrick Mahaffey N1410D Grand P...

Joe Harris
I'm sad to report that Joe Harris passed away on Friday. He had many posts on this forum over the years. Joe hangared his 170A (N1478D) across from my hangar. He was one of the good guys; always ready to help hold a wrench, or offer up a cold beer at the end of the day. He will be missed. Services a...

Fire wall bushings

Has anyone done this receintly? Do you have any advice or things to look our for? Should I consider replacing the Lord m...

Perhaps George Horn should do his research a little more carefully when talking about hydrogen embrittlement. The baking is to be done before the plating process. The plating on the '52 that I am dealing with is actually cadnium. To an untrained eye, I guess it would be easy to mistake clear cadniu...

Wire Marking
I am about to start re-wiring my 170A. I was wondering from those of you that have done this already, how did you lable your wires. I have seen wire stamping machines, but those are high dollar. Any ideas would be appreciated.

The Carb was overhauled at engine overhaul which was about 700 hrs ago (but also 15 years ago too.) Since the hesitation occurs at 1500 RPM the idle system is being overidden by the main metering Jet. It may be just that it is simply loading up at bit. My primer DOES on occasion leak a bit indicated...
