Re: UMC Tach
George, That's what my AI thought as well but apparently the FAA, where this tach is produced, wants a 337 field approval done. The factory called me and asked if I had one so they could show the FAA that there was a field approval somewhere in the US. I hate to call the FAA here and just stir up so...

Front baffles on C-145-2
My # 6 & 5 cylinders run a very cool CHT...about 80 degrees cooler than the rest of the cylinders. I noticed that the early C-172's had baffles in front of the # 6 & 5 cylinders with basically the same engine. Is there any way to get those baffles, or to make them and still be legal? Thanks.

UMC Tach
I bought a new UMC tach for my C-170. It is TSO'd but not STC'd. Has anyone done a 337 field approval on this tach on any airpIane? I would appreciate any info you can give me. It's a great tach and works exceedingly well. If you're not familiar with it it has a standard face but is run electroncall...

Re: Gear Leg Bolt
Replacing the bolts was my intention if I was going to pull the old ones out. My original question was "just how much trouble is pulling them out?" What is the procedure? An AI will be doing the actual work with me helping out.
Thanks,
Thanks,

Re: Gear Leg Bolt
I can't seem to find when the 180 gear was installed and therefore do not know how long these bolts have been in there. I remember when I did the P-Ponk kit on my C180 that P-Pont had you send the old bolts back in if you would and they claimed that around 65% of them were unserviceable....at least ...

Re: Gear Leg Bolt
Thanks, George. Just curious as to why you wouldn't check the bolt.

Gear Leg Bolt
Gonna check the Main gear leg bolt that holds the gear into the gearbox. It's been a while. Anybody have a relatively easy way to do this? Can you just support the wing, get the gear off the ground on that side and remove the bolt and check it for wear or is it more complicated than that? What shoul...

Re: "Y" yokes
Thanks, guys. I have dealt with Harry and was pleased with my business with him. What is an Avion center stack kit? Looks like I will go for the one piece windshield.
Thanks.
Thanks.

"Y" yokes
Am putting in a new instrument panel and would like center stack radios. Where can I get a "Y" yoke for my '54 170B and how much trouble is it to put it in. Also, while the panel is out I thought I'd put in a new windshield. I kinda like the old post style look. Any suggestions on what kin...
