Re Pledge from Eric

Well you may not find it anymore. When I talked to the manufacture rep. she said they stopped make Lemon Pledge over a year ago.

Any ideas for a new cleaner?

Pledge

I talked to Johnson Inc. about Pledge. They do not recomend Pledge with Orange oil for Lexan windows. They also never recomended Lemon Pledge for airplane windows. They stopped making Lemon Pledge about a year ago.

Guess we will have to find a replacement

I am not using auto gas since I can not fly as much as before. Now I want 100 LL for the storage protection.

Follow up to power reduction

This is a follow up to a post I made July 1, 2003 about my 170 not developing enough power to climb out as expected. Here is what I did: Had the prop repitched. It was a cruise prop (53) even though the logs said it was a climb (51) Cost $275 because they had to recondition it. Now have a black prop...

Power reduction

In the last 2 times I have been flying I have notice a power reduction. The first time I noticed that we cleared the trees at a lower altitude than normal. A friend checked the tach on a static runup and we had 2100 rpms. This should translate to 2150 rpm because the tach reads 50 low. I am going to...

CO in cockpit

Hi Mark Thanks for the mail about CO. I am going to have to look over what you have said and decide what I can do about mine. Are there other sealing material I could put under the clamp? I was out yesterday and had max CO of 22. I leaned the engine on taxi and had about a 10 knot wind that I think ...

AIM meter and gap seals

For Bob (Flyer170) Most of the info is in these posts. Aim 935, cost about $70, works for about 3 years, very sensitive, self contained and portable. I put the address in previous posts. John (w4jr) Silicone sounds great. Why didn't I think of that. We should check with George Horn to see if there a...

CO monitor

I have the AIM 935 meter. After putting in all the gap seals around the wing struts and landing gear openings, sealing around the gas line, pluging the 2 holes behind the gas line entry, closing off the air intake ports for the winter, I now have my maxium CO during taxi/TO down to 21 - 23. Cruise n...

Yesterday I did some work on my plane. I got and inner tube and cut gap seals for the landing gear legs. I put those in and stuffed 2 holes in the belly near each door post with foam insulation. I also added some felt to an opening in the back part of the engine baffle. This made some inprovement. C...

Carbon Monoxide in the cockpit

Another item from Tom Arsenault I still wonder if this (CO in the cabin even with the heater shut) and high altitude for 2 days did not have some bearing on my going off the runway at Durango. I had some feeling that when I started to leave the runway that I did nothing. It wasn't until I saw the fe...

Answers to some of the questions. I have an O 300 A engine that has Hanlon-Wilson mufflers. I only had the muffler for the heater (sans baffle) sent in for repair. The repair shop is in Burnsville MN (suburb of MPS). I will have an exact address after I pay the bill (today) and have my log books upd...

CO in the cockpit

Here is some more info that I have found. How much is dangerous? High concentrations of carbon monoxide kill in less than five minutes. At low concentrations it will require a longer period of time to affect the body. Exceeding the EPA concentration of 9 ppm for more than 8 hours is suspected to pro...

CO in the cockpit

Here is some more info on the subject. I had the muffler removed and sent in for repair. Welding is going to cost $375 plus shipping. I think the total cost is going to be around $700. The muffler looks good. Mostly replacement. Here are some figures from my AIM monitor which is a hand held that I t...
